Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

I have 2 paid lines and 1 free. If I add this new free line, can I cancel one of the paid ones after 12 months and switch to the free one?
First, most promotion, if you have cancelled a line (or port out a line) within certain months, you won't qualify for the promotion.
Second, for your 1 free line, is that promotion credit require 2 paid lines in order to get the credit? For such free line, if you have less than 2 paid line, wonder if the free line credit get remove and become paid line.....

I have the same question since I just learned that I cannot cancel one of the 2 paid lines that I have. What is the point of adding this free line?
when you have kids & esp. when you've been holding off on them getting a cellphone b/c they were too young, but they are approaching that age when nearly all of their friends have one.

FRLTUL2LP, ONE plan 2 for $100 with a max of 3 lines not eligible. Wish I had gotten that third free line back then, ported over a few days too late to get the 3 lines for $100 a few years ago..

Wow, that was more of a pain in the neck than before. I have done this two times before for similar offers, and the Reps. always knew about it. The first time the Rep. told me about it when I was calling about something else.

Account:
I have Magenta with 3 paid and 2 free lines from previous offers.

Process:
Called 611 and got a Rep. that didn't know about it and couldn't find the offer. Told her the offer code, but she kept trying to give me a paid line.

Used the web chat and they found the offer ($40 2022 BYOD Line P1) and confirmed eligibility. Each reply took about 5-10 minutes, so it took over an hour on the chat plus 20 minutes on the phone call. Paid $35 for the activation/SIM plus tax.

Use ideas:
I have used my previous free lines with dual SIM to double our Wireless Hotspot data from 5GB to 10GB over 5G. It's a very niche thing to do, but when you run out, it is handy. You can also get extra T-Mobile Tuesdays offers with it, and get extra free airplane wifi, Etc. Never thought about cancelling a paid line and keeping the free line, but I might try that in 12 months.

Has anyone tried to add the free line at costco, which had free activation in the past? Any free phone promos that can be stacked like previously?

Sounds like this is a ploy to help ensure all those new Home internet lines for $25 don't cancel for at least 12 months. Also helps retain those current home internet lines that are paying $50 a month who weren't eligible for the $25 promo.

I chatted with T-Mobile via iMessage and was told I was eligible (Magenta Max). I asked about avoiding the $35 and the rep said to order through the app which I did. Nothing in the app indicated I would get the promo, but if I don't I will chat them back and have them add it later.

You have to wait one year before you can cancel a paid line, otherwise your free line becomes paid line.

Ah wow, nice nice.

I had some questions:
1. How did you get another free line when you already had 8-9 lines?
2. Did you have to ask a T-Mobile representative to move you to the personal Magenta 9-12 person SOC a while back?
3. If the answer to (2) is yes, did all of your promos successfully transfer over to the 9-12 person SOC?

TIA.
They had already moved me over from 8 lines to 9-12 when i added the 9th line a year or two ago. I have only insider discount and the rep confirmed that I will not lose anything with this free line , just the $35 connection charge. I would have to see how the final bill would look like for 10 lines now.
I did this through the T-Mobile Chat so that I have it on record.

Has anyone confirmed with a rep that "you cannot cancel a line within 12 months" won't apply if we cancel our home internet (since it is assigned a phone number)?

Many of us took advantage of the $25 home internet plan this week. I may be cancelling it in the near future.
