The CX2 and AX2 models I have contained the same SMI SM2258XT controller. The CX2 has what appears to be Micron 64L TLC NAND and the AX2 has what appears to be Hynix 64L TLC NAND.

For what it is worth, the older GX2 has the same configuration as the CX2, at least in the ones I have used.

$89 for the 2TB is tempting.

Saw the AX2 for the same price earlier, which is a slightly better model l believe.

This is a couple bucks cheaper than it was around Thanksgiving. Haven't done much with mine yet but it benchmarks in the 500+ Mbps range in a usb3 enclosure (which is similar to the other ssds I have.) Slower than nvme, obviously but headline speed seems as good as you can get from the SATA 3 interface.

Debating if I should get another for my kids pc now...

Edit to add that comments from last month are that the thumb drive is terribly slow. Haven't tried mine yet.

I have a ThinkCenter AIO with HDD. To swap the HDD with is SSD, would I need some adapter / bracket? TIA.

These 2.5" SATA SSDs should be a drop in replacement for a 2.5" laptop size hdd (which I'm assuming your AIO has so may want to confirm).

in your case it could have areas for 2.5" drive which this would fit with some screws if you want a bracket for 3.5" then your AIO probably doesn't have it since it's an AIO which won't ship with additional hardware

most smaller form factor pcs will have 2.5 bays

Not sure if you have room or sata header for a second drive in the AIO, if not I suppose a Sata to USB cable/enclosure and software to migrate to the new drive.

I have done this exact upgrade many times. You'll need an external USB-3.x-to-Sata adapter and Macrium Reflect (great free cloning software). Plug ssd into external adapter, plug adapter into AIO, use Macrium to clone drives, then swap out old 3.5" hdd for new SSD. SSD's are so lightweight you can use a good quality double-sided foam tape to secure in the cavity of old hdd. Boot pc (sometimes takes two boots to finalize ssd drivers) and you should be good to go.

Not sure I'd spend $50 on such low TBW raring (250+). Rather invest another $20 to achieve 450-500TBW

TL;DR - You don't need an adapter / bracket, so you can go without one or make your own for free, or simply buy one if you have the time/money.

I also have an older ThinkCentre AIO. When I swapped out the 3.5" HDD, I removed the entire drive and plastic mounting kit, and put the bare 2.5" SSD onto the SATA connector.

In my case, the replacement 2.5" SSD was not very heavy and probably would have easily held on its own if the AIO did not move around much, but I wanted to be extra safe without spending any money or waiting for a part to come in. I ended up cutting a wine cork into the exact sized pieces necessary to wedge the drive perfectly into place so that there was no pressure being applied to the SATA connector. I swap 2.5" drives in and out on it all the time and use the same cork pieces with no issues for over 5 years.

Looks like Lenovo sells a ThinkCentre Slim 2.5" Storage Kit [lenovo.com] for $9.34 (Use eCoupon GIFT15ACC) and free slow shipping, but I can't vouch for it, obviously.
