    I just bought a "hardly used' of this exact lens on ebay for 477, if that gives anyone an idea of how good 550 is.

    This is a very useful lens although not as sharp as I wanted when used with my Canon T3. At this price point, I think it's worth looking at

    I think I bought mine at around $550 before Covid but it hasn't been any near that price in a looooong time. This is the best price I've seen since the before days.

    Love mine. I use it for astrophotography, hiking, vlogging, and it seems really sharp. If you plan to shoot video, I recommend an external mic, as the focusing does make a little noise. But it's not super loud.

    This is a powerhouse of a lens for crop sensor cameras. I bought one 2 years ago to add to my kit. It's the only lens I use now. It has a couple flaws - no image stabilization, a noisy focus motor, and it's heavy but has features of lenses 2x-3x the price. Metal body, constant aperture through the zoom rang, actually good f1.8, and internal zooming for better balance. There are also company's that will convert theses to cinema lenses giving you parfocal capabilities. Parfocal means it will stay focused through the entire zoom range.

    I had this lens for my Canon 70D before I switched to Sony, and I really miss this lens. Incredible sharpness and color. If you have a crop sensor, pick this up. It takes amazing photos, especially indoors in lower light.
