This looks interesting. I'll wait for all the laptop crappers to criticize it before I pull the trigger though.

Keyboard feel sucks. I have it. Other than than, it's a decent laptop. Wish it has touchscreen though.

I had the touchscreen model from Costco. It heated up a lot during heavy load. More than the 11th gen laptops. It's a good build. For 500sh I think it's worth it.

I picked this up last week at this price. Good to see it's back. Based on my limited research in the 16 hours before purchase, and from what I've seen in the week since, this is a good price for the specs. I just switched from a gaming laptop to a gaming desktop, but I still need something for the road for work. This was top of budget for me. 16GB was essential based on my experience with web browser, conference apps, and background processes sucking up more than 8GB collectively. I just had to switch from 8GB to 16GB in my work laptop (don't tell IT that I did it myself). The 12th gen i7 is a nice bonus that adds value to this deal. Aside from random inaccessible clearance deals at Walmart and refurbished deals (mostly older gen anyway) elsewhere, I haven't been able to match this so far. Also, I did not want touchscreen. I don't use it, I don't need it, it's more trouble than it's worth for me.
One last thing, there was a 15% off coupon inside for extended warranty through Lenovo. I piecemealed the base warranty and accidental damage for 4 years for about $160 I think. Much cheaper than Staples, if you're into protection plans. Not sure the sealed battery warranty is worth it, but it's available if you want it.

Why do you want a touch screen on a non touch friendly OS?

The Dell Inspiron 3511 at M.C. is basically half the machine this one is, for $240 less. If you're just doing web browsing, a few documents, and limited time off charge, it'll get you by - My chief concern would be the 8gb RAM but it is expandable. 2nd issue would be screen brightness, which isn't listed on M.C. but seems to be 220 nits.
With the Dell, you gain touchscreen and a much cheaper price, and it would be enough for many basic use cases. But you lose out on the better build quality, battery, backlit keyboard, screen, and the improved specs of the Lenovo IdeaPad here.

Thanks. I am just looking for basic web browsing, MS office and watch YouTube videos. Definitely going to add more RAM.

not worth it IMO. If you are a a gamer you should get a better card than the 3050 and the 120hz screen is a gaming thing. I don't care about a 120hz screen when I am writing email and on conference calls.
