The moment I apply a gift card balance to my uber eats account, it stops sending me promo codes for discounted food.
So, the trick is to apply the balance immediately after you get the promo code, especially if it is for 2x / 3x use. For example, 40% off next 3 orders.
You can be reasonably sure you'd utilize a good part of the gift card balance for the 3 meals. Order 1 on the same day you get the promo and add the gc balance while paying for it. Order 2nd time towards the end of the promo validity. At the very end of the validity of the promo, schedule the 3rd order as far out as the app lets you.
This way, you don't burn thru $$ all at once. Plus you have a steady supply of food coming thru at discounted price. And you don't have to worry about when the next promo would drop in your account as well as no worries about too many funds blocked in uber eats without any promos to take advantage of either.
Learn to order food when they give you those 50% - 60% off your orders codes, that's what I do all the time. With those codes, it's even cheaper getting it delivered than to order it directly with the restaurants myself, then when you use these discounted uber cash, it makes it even sweeter.
only order on 50% off days or store specific coupons. turns out about same price or slightly less for food being delivered to door. works well for people that understand the system
No I'm not Uber One subscriber. But I do get 40% off next 3 orders quite routinely. Every 3-4 weeks or so. I have often got offers for joining Uber One as well but I'm afraid the % off food offers would stop if I join. Lol. I'd much rather lose 4$ on each order in fees and charges as long as it is deducting 12ish$ for the % discount.
Anyone else care to share their experiences about getting promos once they join Uber One? Thanks.
I never order without a 40%-60% off promo code because it's just not worth it to me especially with all the ridiculous fees. Uber One does send coupons but I've only signed up when they offered a free month trial. I notice the algorithm bombs you with coupons and if you use them consistently they try to hose you out to see if you're going to break and order without a coupon. What I think some people do is make the mistake and order without one then notice the coupons not coming anymore. I remember them making me wait a month before they finally started sending me the coupons again. I would just go to the restaurant and pick my orders up up. lol
Man I hope the whole 'add gift card and no longer get promotions' thing isn't true because I just added one to my wifes account and she's the only one who gets those. I have Uber One on my account and they rarely send me any. Kind of shitty to do that to paying customers but here we are.
I just order & pickup my food, that doesn't have fees nor the jacked up menu prices. It is effectively a 20% off on my favorite restaurants.
even for uber pickups you will find that most restaurants from uber's web/app have inflated prices although there are a few that have prices that are the same as without uber. (or even less)
example of one by me is a mexican restaurant; whole roasted chicken is $12 in person.
via uber pickup its 10.88. how the heck?
another is chipotle by me; the prices are identical via the chipotle app.vs uber app (for pickup)

Says dead, but can still get $10 off a $100 card. Not much, but savings is savings.

EZ 200 bucks in my UE account. Now to double dip on promos yahoooooooo
As for discounts while having a gift card balance, I also get a steady stream of "40% off 3 orders", etc. every couple of weeks. Hope this helps!
