The moment I apply a gift card balance to my uber eats account, it stops sending me promo codes for discounted food.
So, the trick is to apply the balance immediately after you get the promo code, especially if it is for 2x / 3x use. For example, 40% off next 3 orders.
You can be reasonably sure you'd utilize a good part of the gift card balance for the 3 meals. Order 1 on the same day you get the promo and add the gc balance while paying for it. Order 2nd time towards the end of the promo validity. At the very end of the validity of the promo, schedule the 3rd order as far out as the app lets you.
This way, you don't burn thru $$ all at once. Plus you have a steady supply of food coming thru at discounted price. And you don't have to worry about when the next promo would drop in your account as well as no worries about too many funds blocked in uber eats without any promos to take advantage of either.
Learn to order food when they give you those 50% - 60% off your orders codes, that's what I do all the time. With those codes, it's even cheaper getting it delivered than to order it directly with the restaurants myself, then when you use these discounted uber cash, it makes it even sweeter.
only order on 50% off days or store specific coupons. turns out about same price or slightly less for food being delivered to door. works well for people that understand the system
example of one by me is a mexican restaurant; whole roasted chicken is $12 in person.
via uber pickup its 10.88. how the heck?
I think an episode of freakonomics talked about a pizza place that was added on uber eats and the owners didn't know about it. uber eats charged a lower price than what the restaurants would get from uber eats because the price set by uber eats was estimated based on nearby comparable restaurants.
the owners found out and IIRC they made some money by "ordering" themselves a bunch of pizza, to the point that they didn't even put a pizza in the box. they didn't abuse it but eventually uber eats adjusted the price to be higher than what they have on the menu.
Says dead, but can still get $10 off a $100 card. Not much, but savings is savings.
Worth noting that with the fee, its closer to $4 off a $100 card. Still savings, but less than it might sound at "10 off 100." There's a fee of 5-6 dollars for purchasing the card.
I jumped on the the Uber One offer a few months ago (6 months of Uber One for $1.66 a month when you use PayPal as your payment). I assume Uber One will not work if I use this GC to pay. Any workaround for this?
uber eats is still ok if you pick it up in person, there are still a few mom and pop restaurants hasn't marked up on Uber purchases or only a little
especially you have amex platinum and you have to order at least once to spend those $15 bucks credit, i always use uber cash to cover the difference

Uber One still works. Just make sure to select PayPal as your second payment method.

Wow, this is the fastest I've seen these sell out - 9 hours between launching during the wee hours monday for those on the east coast and before 8am on the west!
Uber Eats with the B1G1 free restaurants has been a deal by itself and sweeter with %30 or %40 off promos.
Paying with a GC deal like this additional 20% off, then you realize it's cheaper for delivery after tip or pickup than ordering directly from the restaurants.
