I won't be using USMobile with that device.
I will give it a bit more time and see if I get the checkmarks again otherwise I will contact Google Fi support again.
Contrary to the general sentiment here, I find their support to be helpful and courteous so far.
I also ordered a Pixel 7 Pro yesterday from another account using the Metro PCs deal for trade-in.
I want to sell the Pixel 7 later, -better then returning it- but I have to be sure I meet all the requirements before I sell it. -don't want any surprises later-
1) I activated on 23rd using Esim -and Two Pixel devices were showing- One with IMEI1 the other one with Esim. -No checkmarks in savings, even-though the phone was activated-
2) I put a physical SIM from another carrier in the device. Therefor using the device with 2 carriers.
3) On 24th the checkmarks appeared showing activation and the the device with the IMEI1 disappeared resulting in one Pixel 7 device in my account.
4) Once I saw the checkmarks, I contacted support and asked if I could add a friend's referral code.
5) On 24th I removed the physical sim - which was a USMobile sim card, leaving the IMEI1 slot empty-
6) Subsequently when I checked my Fi Savings, the checkmarks for activation disappeared, and I started seeing 2 devices again in my account.
7) I contacted support and they assured me they can see my activation and everything is all good.
8) I don't know if it was adding a referral code or removing the USMobile SIM which triggered the change in their system but I suspect it was latter one.
9) As of now I still don't see the checkmarks
I am not worried and the phone is active with the Esim. Received my first bill in the amount of $25.49. I would definitely feel better once the checkmarks appear again.
But adding the 2nd provider sim might have caused issue with your activation. It might be seen as being activated to a different provider first. Some people have messed up their promos for the Samsung deal when they put in a different provider sim before they activated with Fi. Even though a phone is activated quickly the backend informatics seem to take time, like 24 hrs to register as activated. It's best to do things in steps, like wait 24 hrs before doing anything else, like adding a new provider sim.

2) I read in this thread and in the other thread on the same subject successful application of referral codes after activation. -the support didn't mention anything to the contrary-
3) When I asked to add the referral code the checkmarks were already in place showing my device is activated and a number was transferred.
4) When I contacted their support once I lost the checkmarks, they assured me everything with my promotion is in order and there is nothing for me to worry about.
What I think is removing the SIM card might have triggered something, hopefully it will correct itself within 24 hours when the counters update. I doubt any of this can have adverse effect in the promotion since I fulfill all the terms. There is no fine print against using the device with multiple carriers.
Having said that I agree it would be probably be safer waiting few days even before adding another SIM card.
Also on another note, you can refer others while you are using the promotion, so I assume referral credits and promotions are treated differently in their system. -My personal opinion, I don't encourage anyone using referrals before doing their due diligence-

Also adding referral after doesn't seem to be an issue generally. But this deal requires a promo code and others haven't. They specifically cannot be combined with other offers. Technically this is two offers but it's two Fi put together. Adding 2 promo codes is the customer requesting 2 together.
Not letting time for Fi to register steps just adds more headache. The system doesn't detect the steps properly and won't annotate it for the promo fulfillment, so you likely need an override. Either that or just start over with new order if it doesn't show correctly in 48 hours. It seems like 48hr is a good window. If promo steps aren't correctly reflected by then, there is something wrong and needs manual intervention. If you haven't sent in the trade-in, I would personally just reorder. The other threads show the problems people have faced when Fi didn't detect their steps correctly. The return period may no longer be extended, and these issues take time to resolve and not always guaranteed as the system may just reissue the charge later.
It doesn't seem to show up in Billing -> Fi Savings -> In Progress.

If it wasn't for the scary posts I have seen regarding promotions and chargebacks I wouldn't really be worried but now I will keep a close eye on the Fi Savings and the checkmarks.
