You can order Aerogarden pods (lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, peppers, whatever) which also come with the MiracleGro liquid plant food. And that's all you need. Or you can do what some other people suggest and make your own pods. I don't have experience with that so can't comment on how much more work that would entail/what the savings look like. The Aerogarden pods come out to around $3 in my experience and I would guess less if you look for a deal and that includes the plant food. I start a garden maybe every 8 weeks so $18 per garden doesn't really faze me much personally.

Why every 8 weeks ? You transfer it outside every 8 weeks ?

If you get no or little sunlight, maybe this makes sense. But many herbs will grow fine, in a normal pot, next to a window (with a few hours of sunshine). We're growing several right now. What's the benefit of this, if you actually get decent sun?

Looks like the deal is gone. I opened. It went to add it to my cart. Next thing you know it was gone.

I just think it's fun to grow herbs indoors during the winter. When you add everything up, it might not be as cost effective as buying already harvested herbs from a grocery store or Walmart, but it's fun (at least for me)
Agree but there are some Herbs that are not available in the stores, like I am specifically wanted to Grow Lemon Balm and can't find in any local stores and looking for some good online stores where I can order Lemon Balm seeds or seed pods, if anybody know please let me know.

OP 10 days back I brought same system from Woot for $55+Tax but that came with 6 sees pods, do you think is it worth going through the pain of returning to woot and buying this from Amazon ?

Anybody, please share any links to off brand seed pods.
That's a good price with everything included. Buying this unit, the seeds, sponges, etc it would set you back about the same.

It tells you when to add water and food. Kind of idiot proof?

Are you guys just getting these for the fun of growing things And because you have no garden outside? Because you could just buy organic already grown herbs much cheaper...it looks like a PITA to have to get specific supplies. how much attention do you have to give these things? It would be great to have some clean summer herbs to snip in the winter but some herbs are so easy you just plant them once outside and never have to take care of them like Rosemary, Oregano, thyme... Can summer herbs and vegetables grown in these things taste as good as those Grown outside? or be as nutritious??

Some people have a long cold winter.

For the chain-of-custody, because apparently selling lettuce that isn't poisoned is too hard of an ask.

And since you usually don't cook lettuce, there isn't another line of defense but hilariously we test our beef, a thing people usually cook before eating.
