This isn't odd at all; this is the perfect set for someone who started out with a drill and driver set. This is like the advanced wood worker set.

I'm extremely tempted to jump on this. I still have a ton of 18V Dewalt tools and batteries that just won't die, but I don't have any of these tools in my cordless set. 18V Circular saw, 18V reciprocating saw, 18V drills, 18V drivers, etc. Corded oscillating tool, corded orbital, and corded sheet sander would be nice to finally go cordless too.

Is this the set that finally pushes me to 20v? Anyone think this will drop to $400, or a different combo will come along?

Honestly don't think there is a more inclusive combo for woodworking.

Are all these tools brushless or are some non brushless? Does Xr series even have any non-brushless tools? Or does xr mean brushless? Is dewalt xr their top of line?

You may be able to return it and for 50 more you get the saw with a charger and battery.
