The ALP has accelerometers to detect and react to physical nudging in two dimensions, and includes haptic feedback so you not only feel the reaction of the pinball to the table as it's bouncing around, but also to your nudging. I own three physical machines, two electro-mechanical and one solid state, and the ALP is a fairly faithful digital representation of what playing a physical machine is like.
It has its limits, but as a digital representation of a real-world machine, it's a damn fine approximation.

I did buy this earlier for $399. Added a $109 joystick and $65 for Coinops package.

This is pretty much all FREE if you can do it yourself but these guys put this all together and all you have to do is plug it in pretty much. Saw a review of this exact package so I went with this one.
The joystick replacement is from Atgames themselves and retail for $200. They put this on sale from time to time. Got mine when it was $109. Very easy to switch out.
They also sell the same thing on Amazon.
