It was 299 with a 5ah (which is arguably worth at least $50 on a bad day) recently and frankly, the previous version was under 200 with battery. This is ok if you have to have this model right now for the added torque and/or modes, but if you're a casual shopper I'd give it a few months to be old news and expect it to sell closer to 200 bare tool/250 with a battery.

Do you own the 900? Curious if it is a worthy upgrade over the 899. Is this any lighter? I understand the 4 modes vs 3, some additional torque, and being 5 years younger, but is there any other significant improvements?

According to the torque test channel on YouTube, there is a significant difference. They claim the most powerful 1/2 impact.

I do not, but the 899 has never failed me, so I'm not sure I could justify the upgrade, the extra torque is for stuff like Honda J series crank bolts and big trucks I would assume. I honestly mainly reach for the DCF923 "Atomic" now as I sold my 894 mid torque and 890 compact when it came out. It's a monster in a very small package.

Seems like an adjustment for a one-battery kit which solds for $319 on Amazon.
Price good enough if you don't need battery and charger.

I tried it and it worked, bought 3 gift cards and paid with them. Got the price down to 239.98 plus tax.

Not the best deal in the world, but if you need one ASAP like me, it's the best current deal. Maybe a better price will pop up before the return time ends.
