If you look at the specs, it says this is actually an LGA 1700 motherboard, not 1200.

Don't think there's 1200 socket with the z690

This must be the only z690 with lga 1200 socket. That's a niche product.

Either way pretty good price.

I just posted a deal at $20 more for a Gigabyte board... worth the upgrade over ASrock.

Depending on the tier, Gigabyte isn't necessarily any better than ASRock. A high-end ASRock is pretty reliably better than a midrange Gigabye.

Not as good as a Tomahawk. You'd have to hit the tree like a hundred times and the motherboard would probably break before the tree did.

I bought the n7 not too long ago, weighing the differences: the configuration of storage expansion options varies between the two motherboards. The cheaper NZXT N5 Z690 benefits from an extra M.2 storage slot that supports both PCIe 4.0 x4 and SATA drives. The N7 Z690 has a more powerful Wi-Fi, more/faster USB ports, and an upgraded on-board audio solution. The audio differences will be important to those who aren't going to fit a PCIe sound card or use an external sound card.

I agree. Asrock has been around for more than 40 years. I've built plenty of rigs with these boards and they have outlived their usefulness.
