2. Which delivery drivers are eligible to receive $5 per "thank you"?
- Amazon Flex Delivery Partners and Delivery Associates employed by Amazon Delivery Service Partners who deliver Amazon packages in the United States are eligible for this promotion, and will receive $5 for the first 1 million "thank yous" received, starting December 21. Deliveries by other partners are not eligible for the $5 promotion, but we will share customers' "thank yous" with those partners. Since you shared your appreciation with your driver, as a special thanks this holiday season, your driver will receive an extra $5 at no cost to you. This promotion is for a limited time only." You will not be charged anything when you thank your driver.
5. I thanked my driver in the first promotion that ended on December 8. Can I participate again?
- Yes, you can participate in the promotion again.
6. I don't own an Echo device. Can I still thank my driver?
- Yes, you can thank your driver using Alexa on the Amazon App or the Alexa App on your smartphone. Start by opening either the Amazon App or the Alexa App, and tap on the Alexa button in the bottom right corner of the screen to speak. Once microphone permissions are enabled, you can tap the Alexa button again and say, "Alexa, Thank My Driver."
7. What if I don't own a smartphone?
- At this time, only customers who have access to an Echo device, the Amazon App, or the Alexa App on their smartphone can access the feature.
8. What happens once an additional 1 million "thank yous" are received after December 21?
- The $5 per "thank you" promotion will end after another 1 million "thank yous" are received. You will still be able to thank your driver using Alexa and we will share your appreciation with our delivery partners.

While I agree and sympathize with most of the unhappy people griping about their terrible delivery experiences in these posts, I have to remind you that Amazon uses many different avenues of recruitment for their drivers, we are not one unified force and should not be grouped together like that. Most of the gray van and box truck drivers are 3rd party contractors and get severely overworked, and their frustration is reflected in their work. Others (myself included) are gig drivers who use our own vehicles, and for the most part, have very chill scheduled blocks that we choose ourselves. I stopped doing big box warehouse deliveries and exclusively do Amazon Fresh warehouse deliveries due to the low number of stops per route and the extra tips. Regular package deliveries do not include tips but have a higher base pay. The system is not perfect, and most drivers do not follow delivery instructions due to the sheer volume of packages they are required to deliver a day.
I have a covered porch and space at the back against the house. Yet they leavboxes hanging at the edge of the steps, exposed to the elements and full view of the street.
I'd be happy to help their cause if they could deliver properly, but it's a rarity no matter how I spell out delivery instructions. They'll walk 20 yards to my steps but once there, won't go that extra 5ft. Can't even remember the last time one left something inside the storm door even. Just abysmal.

I have no idea if this works but "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" and it seems to have gotten better since I've been providing feedback.
BTW - FedEx in particular is no better where I live. UPS and USPS seem to do the best job.
We got to talking, and he thought:
USPS: Always good at deliveries (OK, he is biased, but in his case, this is true)
UPS: Always good - tend to agree with this

Honestly, where you leave a package, especially when people have covered front porches and such should just be basic common sense. And what happened to leaving packages inside the storm door? Another thing that has gone by the wayside.
And as there are more recycled paper packaging and not plastic, only more important to leave in a covered or protected area when possible. This isn't rocket science.
So I don't see what your beef is. I didn't say I blanket shit on everyone.
Obviously not *all* of them. But, for example, this week the driver claimed he gave a box 'directly to a resident' when they actually threw it in the back hall. Just covering themselves.

One guy went above and beyond by actually calling me on the cell phone to let me know the package was there. As soon as I picked it up on the porch, I used the Echo device to thank him and it worked.
I wish the thank control was on the order screen on their webpage. If they did have it there, I would retroactively provide thanks to all of the delivery people who followed my instructions. But since timing is an issue, I could only do it to the most recent people.
