No comparison. JBL Flip 5 is not in the same league as this speaker. Yes, Flip 5 is more portable, but as far as power and sound output, there is no comparison, especially in paired stereo mode.
Used 1 in a knights templar meeting hall and it was plenty because of the acoustics of the room.
For a gathering completely outside, I'd use 2 to ensure full sound without having to crank the volume up and drown people out.
The 310 will have more room-filling sound, but they're substantially larger and heavier. These have the luxury of being pretty portable and can be carried without breaking your back.

The MAX is great. However, I would imagine this to be much better. Will give feedback once I receive mine. I have a Home MAX and it wasn't loud enough for my house parties.
I have a pair of Google home max so I am curious... The thing is that if I invest into this, I'd want two to pair them for enhanced stereo effects?

Are these speakers loud enough to throw parties with inside a large social hall? eg. 4000 sq foot 100x400 ft hall
Or would I need to hook up multiple ones for a large hall like that?
