This is misleading. These speakers are "Atmos Ready," not "Atmos Equipped." I looked around and a pair of the add-on Atmos speakers ($200) are as much as this speaker pair.

Sidebar: Why don't they include the Atmos attachment with speaker combos, or better yet build it in to the speaker cabinet instead of making it a janky add-on?

The Jamo S 809s are garbage? Okay buddy, sure.
No explanation as to why you think they're garbage, how you used them (stereo setup or surround), or what you ran through them?
I would absolutely recommend these speakers.

Thanks. Even I saw the reviews later, they did not do well in them.

These will be much worse... You did the right thing.
the jamo S 809s will be worse than those emotiva B1+ bookshelf speakers? if you're trying to use them as computer speakers, yes. otherwise, i'm worried about you, tyler.

Str dn1080 . L/R in surround and stereo setup. Both with a Dayton Sub1200 . You have to turn the volume up wayyyy too much to get any kind of sound stage or range out of them. They sound tinny with muddy bass. Mid is about their only good quality, but stereo separation is still shit.

These sound pretty bad on 45w class d integrated units most people have on this site.

The mono price/emotiva guy wasn't the one calling it garbage. He asked originally if these were better than his bookshelves deal.

These are glorious calibrated in a matched 7.1.2 system with power to drive it. They're not good speakers for most use cases though.

I have these and for the price it serves all my needs. Only reason not to buy these is last year the whole 5.0 set was on sale for like $350 or something like that. I jumped on it and added the 12" jamo sub this year. I'm happy but audio is subjective

I guess because it's capable of Atmos, but doesn't mandate it's use this way? Or maybe you don't have Atmos and Luke to put things like picture frames and stuff on top of speakers?

I've had these in black for about a year and half, hooked up for a 7.2.4. They are fantastic and perform at par or better then some higher priced speakers. Sound is based a lot on individual preference and room layout. If you are looking for some good all around towers these are the ones to go with. If you are looking for brand recognition then pass and go for something over 500 each.

I've also used these with the atmos speaker mounted on top, and while the towers were great the s8atm were just ok. I personally prefer ceiling mounted atmos speakers.

If you have a subwoofer keep the b1. If not get this. I should also point out these things recommend 120w which is a little crazy. They will be pretty quiet on most homes theater systems without an amp compared to more efficient speakers. .
No, this statement is inaccurate. They will be just fine and are plenty efficient. I've owned these and powered them both with a Pioneer Elite VSX-LX303 9.2 channel home theater receiver as well as a super basic, $25 mini bluetooth stereo amp off of Amazon. The mini amp pushed them just fine and they will still go far louder than most people care to listen to anything unless they are throwing a party. Obviously, a better amp will push them more efficiently but telling people that they will be "quiet on most home theater systems without an amp" is completely inaccurate and misleading to those interested in purchasing.
