Often deals are for soft white 2700k and I hate that yellowy gloomy dull 'light'. Especially for non-bedroom areas that need task lighting. Changed all the lights on the first floor of the house with 5000k. Not sure why it gets a bad rap. It is 6000k at which it starts getting blue-y but I find 5000k a nice bright white. Even upgrading to 4000k from 2700k would make a difference to the level of brightness in the room and to your eyesight, lol. 5000k is much brighter and cheerful. Working in kitchen or doing learning activities with the kids or reading books is much more easier now. Kept all fixed lights 5000k and all floor and table lamps yellow for switching to a mellower dimmer light when relaxing.
I usually wait to get a deal and buy 24-pack for ~24$ or so. And often it is for 60 watt equivalent Sylvania or Sunco or AmazonBasics brands, not Philips or GE. This is less than a buck and it is 100 watt, so I stocked up.
