Can someone explain what use these different types of gloves are for? I'm looking for gloves that I can use for working with my hands when using tools and avoiding scratching myself from sharp edges or having decent grip when squeezing a wrench tightly.

Someone may correct me if I am wrong, but...
These have textile base - meaning gloves will not be ripped apart by the first nail - unlike medical disposable gloves which tear easily.
Have a thick plastic layer on palms - you can hold tools or parts without fear of sharper corners (don't try to stop saw blad with such a glove, though.)
Have a layer of nitrile on back side of the palm - textile base is coated with thin plastic... And this is something I don't like. Most similar gloves have textile back, so your hand skin can breath and sweat evaporates. Depending on your skin and application, this may be a plus, your call.
