Anyone know if this will work on a 2012 Volkswagen TSI engine ? It says to use G12

Probably not. You need euro cars compatible one. Most common one available is pentofrost SF (silicates free) https://www.pepboys.com/pentosin-...uct/981815
It should be available at advance auto and AutoZone as well. I think I still have few bottles from clearance I got at advance auto, when family member had SAAB and it used that as well.
It used to have pink color but now I think it's purple.

Just FYI to anyone, you're not supposed to mix new coolant with the old one. Even they are the same color.
how do you get the old coolant out?
ive always done drain and fills but not all of it gets out

Riiight...are you mechanic by any chance? The type of metal alloy they use for cooling systems in Europe vs Asia vs US could be different enough to cause oxidation or corrosion when wrong coolant is used. I would suggest sticking to what engineers who designed those systems recommend and TBH in system without leaks it should last long time before it needs to be even changed. On my new Civic manual shows up to 80-100K life with OEM stuff and with that milage I can spend $30-40 to get new stuff enough for full system flush.

For the most part I don't disagree, but for older cars that may have a small leak and you need to keep adding more, I think this is a good way to go. Plus from what I've read new coolants use phosphates instead of silicate so it is safe to use in all cars

Motor oil isn't hazmat, it is a water pollutant, but it isn't Hazmat till you get to bulk loads (119 gallons).

It's hazardous to a carrier. Think of the packages below it insured for thousands ruined by oil. Think of the employee who slips on it and has an intriguing worker's comp case. Shall I go on?

A wise old mechanic once told me that the one fluid car owners should never cheap out on is antifreeze. Basically to stick with the car manufacturer's own version. True or not who knows but I've heeded his advice instinctively and been using Toyota's own antifreeze in my 99 Tacoma for a long time now and its worked for me.
