For gaming 5800X3D.
For productivity, 5900X.
For mixed workloads (gaming and productivity) it really depends which you value more.
If you want amazing gaming performance that can often come close to (or even exceed) Ryzen 7000/13th Gen Intel then the 5800X3D it is.
If you're ok with Ryzen 5000 series gaming performance but need more cores/threads to make money or save time then the 5900X is a better bet.

What about heat/efficiency? I recall 5800X running hot.

It seems to run a little hotter than my old 1800X. I replaced my 1800X with this over Black Friday. I'm using an old Corsair H110i AIO cooler. At idle, the CPU temp is usually around ~45C. CPU tops out around 80C when I benchmark. My old 1800X usually idled at around ~35C and topped out ~72C.

antonline is ok to post now? I tried to post a deal from them few months ago and had it removed because they were not a retialer aloud to be on the site is what I got told. ooo looks like in nov they got allowed back. Thats great news. I got the x3d back during a 329.99 deal with game code and its been working amazing at -30 pbo all core with pbo tuner in windows. I reccomend doing at least -20 all core as it helps temps or maxium performance depending how you tune it.

It's about 65 in normal mode, 45-55 in "eco mode" and not more then 80 under heavy loading (rendering). But I use water cooling evga 360 and I don't recommend w/o it

100%. That's what I upgraded from. If you're gaming, it makes a big difference. I went from 128 FPS in Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1440p to 206. (Obviously results will vary from game to game)

Will this make a difference in Warzone 2 vs 3700x?

If you are on the fence about a new build but want a slight upgrade for your Ryzen 5 3600/2070 Super, would you get a 5800X3D now for upgrade and then do the rest of my new build in a year to 16 months?

Or just wait and do it all then? I am ONLY into 1440 gaming on my 31.5 monitor and as along as I can get 60 FPS, I am cool
