I have a TCL TV and don't care about this but it is a Chinese state owned company (although is partially publicly owned as well) and like all smart devices collects data.

Picked one up.. free delivery and will be here in 4 days.. my last TCL was 55" and was an awesome unit. They are built with components from leading manufacturers and perform as well or batter than most discount and house brands.

I will no longer be buying anything TCL. A TCL phone that I bought failed after 9 months. They wouldn't honor their warranty. I did manage to get the phone replaced though but only after filing a complaint with the BBB.

Great price on a set this size. Though it's recommended if you're going to buy TCL, that it should be a 5-series or above. Better contrast ratio, full array local dimming and wider color gamut. If you're on a budget, then this 4-series should be fine.

4 series isnt that great and Android TV is horrible. If it were Roku i'd get one. My 55S405 is still running after owning it for 5 years but contrast on these are garbage.
