    that's because they tried to be politically correct towards the end. key & peele essentially took same show and made it as controversial as possible with focus on all issues that is uncomfortable, and now look at their success.

    To be honest, once the original cast left the show in the late 1970's I stopped watching it then. Just wasn't funny anymore. And even then with the original cast, a lot of skits did not work at all.

    You like what you like, but I can't dismiss the greats of the 80s and 90s like Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Chris Rock, etc., etc. There were some great bits then too, unlike now which isn't even worth watching On Demand much less Live.

    Stopped watching before it even went on the air in the '70s. Before it even became a show was when it was the best.
