Its a 1080p60 medium card. [yahoo.com]

Notebookcheck used extremely old drivers for their review, and didnt bother to check for updates when reviewing Arc GPUs. And since Arc GPUs are new, there is a drastic difference between the first drivers and drivers now (like 8 months after mobile Arc launched). They also didnt change the power settings to allow the card to fully run at max performance.

While not many websites actually review laptops in details, Notebookcheck gives a lot of bad data, to the point where I wouldnt bother looking at their reviews.

Overall performance is around GTX 1650 levels with the latest drivers

I was hoping at least it'd match RTX 3050 in terms of performance, look like it's 15% slower, kind of disappointed.

FWIW, I picked up this 14.5" Ryzen Slim 7 Pro X refurb yesterday for $818 before tax:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155268982303

Specs are pretty amazing for the price: 32GB DDR5, 1TB Gen4 SSD (upgradeable), RTX 3050, 120Hz panel. It's on sale for $1299 at Costco.

I actually made a post this morning but it got removed, I believe because the seller is about a 1000 reviews short of the 10k minimum (updated eBay policy). Anyway, curious to hear what you guys think.
How's the battery life on refurb?

Yes, I've had one new since August and I love it. Great build quality, good performance, good battery life, you name it. It checks all the boxes for me and really feels premium. It's the only laptop that I've gone back to over and over again after trying others.
What's your observed battery life for general use (non-gaming)?

Don't need a gaming machine, but can anyone comment on the graphics card for Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator etc) and CAD programs. Minimum needed graphics card is 4gb. I would love a slim 17" and I love Costco
I have Lenovo Slim5i with 16GB and the same Intel ARC. I am using it for photo and video editing. Using Lightroom/Photoshop with some of the resource hungry plugins like Topaz Denoise is breeze. My previous laptop used to take a while to process images specailly when using Denoise but this one is pretty fast. I am not into gaming either but definitely recommend for other high intensity tasks.

Hopefully fine. If not, I can return it. I have no problem taking that minor risk for $480 in savings.

Ah, happy to hear it. I've been agonizing over what laptop to get to replace my 2017 Surface Book 2, felt like every potential candidate always had some sort of deal breaker. This was the first one that checked all the major boxes and looked and felt great in person.
Agree, replacing a 2018 surface book 2 lol

At 60hz, probably 8-9 hours of web browsing and the like. If you are at 120hz, take 1-2 hours off of that.

Yep, I agree. I tried nearly every laptop at Best Buy and they all had a deal breaker. This one is nearly perfect. The only slight complaints that I have are no HDMI port and the battery drains slightly while charging if you are taxing the CPU and GPU hard. Besides that I haven't found any drawbacks.

I would recommend changing the wifi card for an Intel one as the stock one isn't great. I installed an Intel AX210 and it works like a charm.

Great minds! Smilie I was planning on swapping out the Mediatek one, seems like an easy and cheap fix. Would you mind linking me to the AX210 that you bought? I also added a deal alert for a 2TB SSD, though I'm in no particular rush.

I literally just started the return process for one of these yesterday from Costco. Pros: fast. Cons: heavy, and 3 BSODs within a week of light use! One of them happened after Lenovo guy supposedly fixed corrupted file and running the diagnostic. That was it. Buying another one and hope for better luck.

Really reaching for the star, weren't they?

Regardless of drivers and all that... 1650 performance for $900? Hard pass if looking for gaming performance, but I see the benefits for content creators.

This is their extremely cut down mobile GPU, it was never intended to go against high end Nvidia GPUs, but to be mostly for creators, especially video encoding (which it surpasses Nvidia at). This has 8 Xe cores, while their desktop cards have 32. Basically Intel never released a high end gaming GPU for mobile, just stuff for creators/mixed use.

I agree that if you're looking for specifically for a gaming laptop, at $900 this isnt a good deal, it is the cheapest laptop with a 12700H and dGPU, but for $100 more you can get something like an MSI Katana with a 12700H+3060, which is far far better at gaming, but quality control is worse, doesnt have a touchscreen, etc. The people that are best suited for this laptop are content creators, hence the 32Gb of RAM, 1Tb SSD, and Arc.
