I have free run 2018, which they still sell and are very comfortable. Anyone know how these compare to those?

Nothing really compares to the 2018s. They have a much softer sole than the newer ones which are more firm.

Agreed. I have 4 pairs of the 2018's and tried these new ones earlier in the year and didnt like them at all. These new ones to me feel too firm in the heal and too soft in the front. The 18s are very balanced all around. My other favorites are the Pegasus Trail 3. More for walking but extremely balanced and comfortable.

Glad I stocked up on previous versions of Free RNs, assuming (correctly) that newer versions would not be as good.

No, the Free RN 2018 is softer. The Free RN 4.0, 5.0, etc. are firmer.
