This is the Director's Edition, which is much better than the regular version available on the Xbox Game Pass. I'm glad I waited until now to play this game as I didn't want to play the original version.

If I go to the main epic games page and click on the 'Free Now' link, it does say free.
Game page shows it as free eventually.
