If you plan on using these with Viofo dash cam, avoid it... at least for the Viofo A139 Pro and A229.

That's fair. I have a ton of adapters, since many microsd cards come with them. The price of a decent reader is more than $0.50 more than an adapter (which is passive - doesn't contain any electrical components besides traces (wires) and the write-protect switch).
