Pricing is currently normal TurboTax + $10. This should drop when the deal goes live on 12/28. Don't bother trying to buy it early.

Yes it's being delayed a year, there's an article abt it at irs.gov. However, it was only ever a reporting change; you've always owed taxes on PayPal/Venmo/etc business income whether it was $20K, $600, or $10. You owe the same taxes you've always owed, it'll just be a lot harder to cheat now (2023 tax year with delay)

I have a Mac does the PC version can be used on Mac?? (Sorry if this is a noob question)
Think about it. If it can, why bother selling 2 version w diff sku. But serial number should work on either one

So with the IRS not enforcing the $600 payments rule this year we don't need to worry about getting the home and business version or do we?
They are not requiring ebay, paypal, venmo to produce a 1099-K. It does not mean you can doge taxes. You still have to file accurately.

I have no taxes to pay on old things I sold for a loss, but if I get a 1099k issued then I obviously have to deal with that even if I wouldn't have to pay taxes.

Right! A person is required to pay taxes on any earned income regardless of the $600 issue. If you sell something on eB or CL and make a profit, the profit is reportable by the person making the profit, and is taxable. Failure to report that income is tax evasion.

The $600 rule applies to the tracking of actual transactions, NOT the tax liability. Companies that are the intermediaries (Venmo, Paypal, CL, FB marketplace) will be required to REPORT the transactions on a 1099 if the the sum on any one platform exceeds $600. It is this reporting by the intermediaries that has been delayed, not the taxes owed by sellers making a profit. Taxes are due whether or not a 1099 is issued.
Yes. I don't quite understand the people complaining about it saying it would make them pay for a different turbotax tier. Sounds to me they have been dodging taxes owed to the government.

If I transfer $600 to my spouse or child or pay my friend (my share of a vacation trip) using paypal/venmo/zelle, will I get 1099K? if yes, I have to use a different turbotax to report this 1099K?

I believe F&F payments are excluded from paypal 1099. I dont recall seeing any of mine two yrs ago. Feel free to check paypal community for more info on this

That is not clearly stated by any of the apps… for example zelle doesn't have f&f or non f&f … zelle claims they don't fall in $600 requirement… things are really murky

Paypal and venmo does have option to identify a payment as good and services or friend and family. That helps them fill in proper 1099. I do not think this law applies to zelle.

If you have anything complicated like a K1 tax structure stock (many oil and oil transfer companies use this), you want Premier. For simple trades, Deluxe will do. I held Energy Transfer last year and learned this the hard way; the K1 is a tax time nightmare!

Deluxe will work for you I've used deluxe for stock transactions

Does it do it all for you or you have to enter everything? Ive read in past Deluxe doesnt help you do investments as much, but it will work in a more manual fashion

https://turbotax.intuit.com/perso...#tax-forms [intuit.com] -- seems a lot of difference in forms related to investment activities between premier and deluxe

we used these guys last year -- no issues ... I think they have Deluxe with State for $34.00 .... download ... will probably use them again unless this is one helluva Amazon sale ...
I used a similar service one year - installed with no problem, then before doing my taxes I switched to a new PC and went to install TurboTax there, and the license code didn't work. Turned out they were selling the same license code five times to different customers, so each customer could use it only once. Fortunately I had paid with PayPal and they got me a full refund.
Here's a scam report on bighometax:

So TT Deluxe is $35 with this deal but is only $39 on the Intuit website? This seems only a marginally better deal.

It's $70 on their website, this is the download version not the online version.
