Hdd don't have the competition or retail network to be competitive as in the past. There is a 15 to 33% premium on top skus by choice. $299 would have been fair as the 18tb has been $269-$279 in the last couple years

We're FINALLY getting bigger hard drives! Still, I'm waiting for this to hit $150 to pull the trigger, IF it's shuckable. I need to consolidate some 8TB drives.
You're waiting for $7.50/TB. Good luck waiting. $13.58/TB is the lowest I've seen for shucked drives ($190/14TB) and that was 2 years ago. https://shucks.top/
Earlier this week I saw the 20TB for ~$290 on Amazon putting the price/TB at around $14.80.
I usually set an alert on diskprices.com
Not seeing that price anywhere on that site lol.. Unless you're talking about some 3rd party seller, different brand, and/or USED.
Either way, this is definitely the cheapest this year and cheapest it'll ever be for this season.
Cheapest I saw was 15% off $330 from WD official site (20TB), but I guess they caught wind of that and disabled the coupon.
EDIT: Nvm, coupon works again if you recycled a hdd with WD official site to get the 15% off coupon. Total $263.50 or $13.18/TB ($282.25 with tax) + 5% purple cashback site.
