If anyone finds a similar size that would be awesome. I bought the 34x30 and they are a little large because they stretch.
Probably. 2% Elastane or Spandex makes all the difference. If you're a late 80s hiphop baby that's all grown up, and wants to dress the same as we did coming up albeit with a more tailored look, the 541s (Athletic) and 531s (athletic slim) fall between the American Eagle Slim Athletic and the Express Slim Athletic cuts in terms of fit, washes and accessibility.
541s sit at the waist, have room in the legs for men that don't miss leg day and taper at the foot to give a slick modern look. The 531s go a step further in terms of tapering which can look very slick.
Unfortunately Levi's supports the 531 cut like Sony supported the PlayStation Vita. So if you're like me and wear your jeans at your waist but want slack at the foot of the jeans, the 31x34s are nearly impossible to find in cool washes.
The 541s were my go-to cut for years and I still own all of my 30x34s. until I moved to the Athletic Slims because they just give a slightly more tailored look. Judging by some of the pictures, most of those are 512s which are just slim. But actual 541s were Levi's best-kept secret for the better part of the last 10 years, in my opinion.
For point of reference I'm 5'Almost11", 165 lbs, with runner's legs. So I don't need the 34 length but they achieve the look I'm going for. Hopefully that helps someone.
