Could do a whole lot worse than these for the money. Squier logo on the headstock usually retains better resale than whatever Chinese off-brand you might pick up for comparable money.

But then you can have a Monoprice Tele for 85ish with tax with their 15% coupons which keeps every month. Many say they are slightly better quality than Squier lines except their Classic Vibes.

I bought the made in Mexico player version of this, in the 60 cycle hum was crazy on the factory pickups. I bought the 4th gen noiseless set and problem solved. I'm not sure if this model uses those same (original player model) pickups or even cheaper ones. Good price for a beginner guitar though!

Having held and played both the Squire Bullet was better than the Indio. Better finishing like on frets, and better setup from the factory.

We own both, and found the opposite true. We just got the Indio for my 8 year old about a month ago, and have had the Squier bullet for about a year. I prefer everything about the Indio, although it did arrive with some back bow, which was easily corrected.

FSR = Fender Special Run. You're not getting a collectable/investment at this price, but it's definitely worth an "oh that's neat". Classic color combo too. Haven't played this exact one, but it's a cool first Tele if that's all you're looking for.

Obviously QC varies on both.

Get a Les Paul or Yamaha Pacifica in that case. Smilie
