Same here after the changes to Amazon music I decided to migrate back to my own library.

If you use Android try symfonium music player a try. I enjoy the experience more than Plexamp. And for audiobooks the chronicle app.

Me too! PlexAMP is pretty good and updates often. App works well on PC and my phone (Android). Haven't tested it out on Android Auto since I don't drive that often these days.

I highly highly recommend Plex. Streaming services are good.

When using a compatible device or processor on the Plex Media Server, subscribers can make use of hardware acceleration when content needs to be converted (transcoded) during streaming. This can be faster and more power-efficient for users.

I didn't realize that was a paid feature. I thought I got hardware transcoding with the free version

Veteran Plex-er here. PlexAmp is terrible. If you want to unlock God mode, download "Prism Music" and "Prologue" for iOS and prepare yourself for the best music and audiobook readers in existence.

My plex stopped working. I can't get it working again. One of the updates just broke it on my qnap. I'm pissed.

That was my thought as well, although I've apparently not ran into any issues running a small server for friends and family yet with the software transcoding?

I prefer Jellyfin these days, but it hasn't been around as long as Plex. I appreciate the ethos of the people behind it (FOSS). I think Plex is going to continue to add more features to line their pockets. Was a Plex user for around 15 years (ran it off my Xbox 360 when that was still the current gen system), but just switched to Jellyfin a few months ago.
