If you use Android try symfonium music player a try. I enjoy the experience more than Plexamp. And for audiobooks the chronicle app.

Otherwise, even if overkill, many many high quality 5.1 sound, 1080p bluray rips can fit on a phone/tablet. Especially the "cheaper" ones that still have SD storage. Which I'd argue, even if you have fully uncompressed 4k rips of movies, what's another 3-5 gigs to keep a quality 1080p copy for lower end devices?
FYI the program guide is provided independent of the device, aka from Plex and it is top notch.
It's not as stable as it used to be.
Prism Music is a masterpiece. The best music player hands down and I've tried about 35+ clients on iOS. Having Plex and Apple Music support makes it a godsend!

Anyways it looks like it's free, so I'll give it a try.
//update: tried it. Deleted it. I like my music folder organization, and I'm not able to browse my music by folder using Prism Music unlike the native PlexAmp app.
