Is this still where we are? Close to $400 for a mid-range, last-generation video card is considered a slick deal?
Yeah no shit, although this is just a coupon. You could blame NewEgg (or Zotac) in the first place to still be charging non-discounted prices of $409.99 for a card* that had an MSRP of $399.99 over 2 years ago.
*yes I realize Nvidia's MSRP largely didn't extend to AiBs, especially when they put fancy terms like "OC" and "IceStorm 2.0" on the box
Ya know, while the 3060 ti beats the 2080 pretty soundly, I think the 4060ti is going to struggle against the 3080.
And I think it's gonna cost more than $399, I'm sure.
A 3060 is also competitive with a 6750 XT with ray tracing and DLSS.
Ray tracing at these tier of gpu's is not generally worth the hit. DLSS is cool though. Gamestream for Nvidia gpu's is also nice (and being removed in the coming months sad to say). I'd expect those buying a 6750XT aren't doing it with ray tracing in mind is all I am saying.
And the "HHHHOOOLLLLDDDD" peanut gallery is still complaining above. SMH....
Nobody is suggesting to hold, there's immediate alternative to buy now that is better and cheaper then this. I'll take my peanuts I saved to improve other components for better bang for the value.
Nvidia is coming out with new cards in a week so if anyone is holding, it would be for a week to see what that's like to make an informed decision.
And the 'don't buy this' chanting is still part of the 'hold' theme. That mindset never be happy with any option in 2022, 2023, or 2123 as there is (or will be) always something theoretically better / cheaper

The problem is when you keep saving those imaginary peanuts for a hypothetical purchase that will never occur. There is always another video card that does X or Y better, one that is cheaper for 'similar performance,' a price drop on the horizon, or a pending new release. If you wait for any of those things to not be the case...you'll never buy anything. Hence the never ending "hold" and the same people complaining about every card...comparing a card today to a card they lambasted yesterday.

Without reading your next statement I had somehow replied to it by accident. So "hold" because something is on the horizon, cheaper, and better?

I would not buy this unless it's under $300
