Mobile 3060 is about as strong as a desktop 2060.
That's why there's SOOOOOOOO MANY 3060 laptops with 1080p resolution.
And yes it has WAY more ppi than the 55" 4k gaming monitors which are also accepted as excellent.
Like the incredible $3500 msrp Samsung Odyssey Arc.
More ppi than the amazing 43" 4k ASUS ROG Strix monitor for $1200

These screens, are they also for 80+ yr old people?

I guess these companies are idiots for producing such shitty displays, right mcfly?

tldr: 1440p+ on a 17.3" screen is an upsell for suckers.

edit: sorry I just wanted cake

I respectfully disagree, this is a great deal. Only downsides would be short battery life and weight. I think the 3060 is on the higher power end, like 130 watt draw or somesuch.

What TV's are you talking about? I'm talking about monitors.

The nintendo switch is 1280 x 720

edit: but nobody likes those

thanks for the cake

and they still sell 15.6" 720p laptops [newegg.com]

Other 17.3" 1080p Gaming laptops (There are A LOT of them)
Msi GE76 Raider
Asus Tuf Gaming A17 & F17
Gigabyte A7K1
ASUS 2022 ROG Strix G17
Acer 2022 Nitro 5
Lenovo Legion 5
2022 GIGABYTE AORUS 17 XE5
MSI Katana GF76
HP OMEN 17

ALL these gaming laptops were apparently designed for 80+ yr old people with bifocals

tldr: 1440p on a 17.3" display is an upsell for suckers

Ah this would be a bite if the price was about 700$ 800+ is a bit steep.

So, my current gaming laptop is 5 years old, so I'm quite behind on technology. Do current model laptops still use power bricks or they use USB-C now (like Apple with Thunderbolt)? Thanks.

There are some laptops that use USB-C but this looks like it uses a brick and "1 x DC-in Jack" as listed in the description.

I think most if not all true gaming laptops uses the brick cause of the higher power requirements.

Between cpu and gpu tasks, MUCH MUCH BETTER. 4700u is a low power unit great at efficiency, great for portability and power use, this is a desktop replacement.

HA!
More ppi than a 27" 1440p which is more than accepted as excellent.

Can I have some of what you're taking?

edit: no seriously if that's "special" cake I want some.

Do you make these displays. Why are you so emotional?

If your "accepted as excellent" ppi were truly accepted, then you'd see smaller than 17" displays with lower than 1080p resolutions. But you don't! Do you see any 13" or 14" laptop displays with ~720p anymore? No. There's no market for them.

Comparing laptop displays with desktop monitors in terms of ppi is flawed. I'll let you figure it out while you eat your cake, but I'll give you a hint... it's flawed in the same way you compare TVs to monitors. Enjoy!

What TV's are you talking about? I'm talking about monitors.

I'm 49 and need bifocals lol. I find I had to raise my 3 monitor 27" setups because my old eyes couldn't see anything at 4k lol. No one told me about this BS when getting old Smilie
