First post please be gentle. Most reviews I see recommend the 2021 model over 2022 64GB Apple TV since 2021 has Ethernet and Thread support while 2022 doesn't (128GB version does though)

It's not really worth it. Even with 40 apps mine is not close to hitting 32Gb. Think about your use case. Unless you are loading a lot of games you should be fine. Streaming apps barely take any room.

Any guarantee this will get iOS 17? Tempted to pick one up just for the possibility that it does, since iOS 17 is supposed to start allowing unsigned code. We might end up with some alternatives to Syncler and Weyd on android...

This version is only a year old. So I am no expert but you should probably get at least 5 years of support. But if you
Don't need Ethernet or the extra storage, you might want to look at the newer version that has a much more recent chip (I did buy the generation from this post at 32 gb like a month ago and it is great fyi)

HDR10 + Dolby Vision + A15 is a much better feature set for the future.
