Just do a simple web search on "Is MaxTool . Com safe, " and you'll see the problems people have had. Then, look up Factory Authorized Outlet the same way.
They are almost identical to Factory Authorized Outlet's entire design and system.
On FAO, you can get the Same deal for $549 and get the $100 FAO Bucks as well (where they send you a code and you get $100 off your next $200 order.) It seems MaxTool has that as well.
But at the end of the day, MaxTool has had HORRIBLE issues. I'm surprised the big tool companies still list them as a dealer.

Now, my personal experience is a long nightmare of a story involving them sending me DOA Makita impact driver and a used circular saw. Reaching a human there was easy, but getting a human to listen. They then tried to claim that the promo only had a 10-day return window, and they refused to believe that they sent me a used tool. Long story short, I didn't use PayPal, but I wish I did. I eventually got my money back by reaching out to their California store, and they were completely understanding. It took me over 2 months from the time I got the delivery to get my money back.
And if you look online, you'll see others had even worse experiences.

Shady vendors are great for AMEX cards. AMEX's dispute system is great, I've never had issues with them siding against me, and they always have actual humans you can talk to.
Maxtool, FAO, and Imperial Industrial Supply are the same company by the way, they have created the illusion of choice and competition.

What'd you pay with? A wire transfer? In my experience visa, discover, MC all have better dispute resolution than PayPal.
I don't use my Amex or Discover cards frequently, but I usually prefer those for bigger purchases, just in case. Capital One handled fraud very well for me once, but I like the customer service that Amex and Discover offer. Might just be me, but they make it seem like they actually want to do their jobs and keep customers happy.
Actually it's pretty easy to believe, but I guess I can clean up the deal alert at this point.
