It really bothers me that organizations put the year on stuff like this - it immediately dates it and creates waste. Most people arent going to put a "pumpkin picking crew 2022" shirt on their kid in 2023...but if it just said "Pumpkin Picking Crew" - they could give it as a hand-me-down or re-wear it. Lame that Children's Place wants to create so much clothing waste just so they can re-sell some stupid shirts

Don't you know? It's all about profit! Screw the planet!

they are actually only .90 cents if u select store pickup. I ordered a couple for.the kids... just something to wear underneath a shirt to stay extra warm.

I agree. But it's not just companies and consumers. There is a vast ecosystem of people from politicians to economists to journalists to historians that are pushing the idea that this kind of waste is good for the economy. So someone who might ordinarily feel guilty about contributing to a system that creates so much wastes is combined that it's actually "good for the economy" so it's easy to squelch any pangs of conscience they may have and pursue policies that are wasteful.

Can't agree more! The majority of these say 2022 on it. What a waste of good fabric. :/ Unless you figure out a way to put something over the word, I guess.
