I wouldn't recommend having only 8GB for memory. The system won't be able to handle having very many tabs open in web browser. The rest of the specs are fine, though.

So $399 is the shipped price. 5% discount for pickup at the few available stores.
Seems good to me for what it is, but can probably do better with an amex $150 offer if they come back.

I mean spec wise, thats not terrible tbh. Extra ram would be dirt cheap. And as long as it has a 16x slot, you could def get creative lol.

Or just scrap the mobo entirely, but lol nvm.

Spend 30 bux on ram and its a perfect lil pc

The Dell Inspiron 3910 is another junk pre-build. Inside the case, there is room for only one 3.5" mechanical HDD that gets mounted to the side of the case, not even in a cage, very bad for the drive longevity.

It comes with the low end 1 TB WD Blue drive @ 5400 rpm. and a 256 M2 2242 drive, half the size of a modern M2 2280 You have to move the metal bracket down to accommodate a M2 2280 drive for an upgrade and place the M2 2280 over the thermal pad.

There are two dimm, memory slots, a proprietary motherboard and proprietary power supply. For the size of this case, there are no other expansion options for additional storage.

Desktop measurement's is 12" L x 6" W x 12" H. If you are ok with the storage options as is, this maybe ok for your needs..
It is $380 with a 12th gen I5 what do you want ?!??

This will handle web browsing just fine with 8GB and paging (if even needed) to an NVMe drive.

It sure is. Not just decent, it is really good. Chase also offer 10% cashback when u enable it, if u have capital one app, they also five 10%. Combine both u get it for 300 and some change. How is it not awesome. 256gb ssd: $25, 1tb hdd: $50, memory, mobo, processor, $300 if not less, power supply and chasis for another $100. Proprietary or not, it is a kick ass pc for home, college, media center or blue iris. All snobs are only thinking about the upgrade which is not needed for 99% of casual users.

Any recommendation for light gaming desktop?
Depends on what you want to play and your budget. For 1080p on a budget, you could get a desktop with something like the following: GTX 1660 Ti/super, RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT, RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, RTX 3050/3060. The GTX 1660's are the slowest of the bunch but are still OK for 1080p med gaming if you find a deal. Check out relative performance numbers here: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-s...uper.c3458

For the GPU by itself, the RX 6600 (~$200) and RX 6600 XT (~$250) have been the best deals for solid 1080p gaming lately. The 6600 XT can even handle some 1440p, although you'd have to make compromises with the most demanding games. Overall, I'd recommend at least 6 GB VRAM at this level although recent GPUs have 8 GB now in this range now.

I've seen refurbished GTX 1660 Ti/super desktops go for about $400+. On the other end, new RTX 3060 and RX 6600 XT desktops will probably be double or more. I'd want at minimum Intel i5 10th gen or Ryzen 3600 for a low budget build. Intel 12th gen i5 or Ryzen 5600 is solid for nearly every mid range GPU so beyond that point the CPU would make little difference.

How do you double dip on Chase and Capital One? I think Capital One needs you to follow its click-thru plus uses its own card?

I have a slightly different model inspiron (i3 version) and it could not output to my 4k monitor at work because it is hdmi 1.4, so I had to install a low power gpu. I installed an rx 560 that doesn't require additional 12v rail but it kept stuttering because of insufficient power, even on desktop with no open windows. The rx560 works just fine at home. Later, I found a gt 730 just for its displayport and it was ok to output 4k 60hz at 10bit color. Long story short: don't attempt to build a low end gaming pc or even try to connect to a 4k monitor this thing. Old inspirons all had displayport for this and Dell is trying to save a few dollars more by ditching it.

Edit: looks like this model has dp so a dp to hdmi 2.0 converter for about 10-20 dollars will solve the problem. Dell also states it supports up to gtx 1660 super, probably if it is the 300w psu variant or if the gpu does not require external 6 pin 12v rail.
