We have The Fives in our TV room. They sound incredible, but I'm tempted to try this to see if it can sound even better.

buy them and let me know, just got the fives as well. they sound pretty good, wish it had more volume in it, and a sub might fix that

I purchased this on Adorama/Amazon a few weeks ago for $239. Love it, and the wireless feature, and was very easy to set up. Produces more bass than I need!

I have a downfireing 12" sub next to my tv, but would like to buy this so I can hide it next to my couch. Would this be a good application for this? Just worried that a front firing sub would be directional vs downfireing

I've used one of these for over a year in a 5.1.2 Atmos setup for home theater and gaming. For $200, it's a great value, especially given the built-in wireless that can go for over $100 on it's own, depending on the brand.

With that said, IIRC the lower end of this bottoms out at around 29Hz, which won't hit the lowest notes. So you don't that "shakes your bowels" kind of low end - you hear this bass more than feel it, especially in a larger room.

Would recommend, but if you go into this expecting a speaker rattling nightclub experience, you won't get that for $200.

I also have the Fives, but in my smaller room I don't think I really need the sub. That being said, I will still get one lol

Usually downward firing sub stays next to seating area.
Front firing sub will needs to be facing audience, so this will work best if you put it next to TV facing couch.

Your current sub should work best next to your couch
