Drums: "For the serious drummers, the weight and stability of the drum can be adjusted by placing a water bottle or two underneath the drum head."
Sounds like flawless design. I do like rhythm games though. Anyone know if this is worth playing without the drums?
For this price, yes, it's worth buying it now and seeing if you enjoy the music enough to wanna jam out with it. It's still decent fun. Ideally keep an eye out on a drum salein future(ha, good luck, the current $6 off deal ain't great), and then it's an amazing experience with a song collection that will keep you entertained for years.
Yeah, also want to know. The drum kit hardware is expensive.
The game is playable without the drum controller but it is not as enjoyable.
There are two control options to play the game without the drum kit.
1) By using the joycon buttons to strike the drum.
2) By swinging the joycons down or to the side to hit the notes. For me this was inaccurate and frustrating to use.
I eventually opted to buy the drum kit and did a sensitivity mod using felt tape and an IKEA 7" cork trivet.

Thanks for the input. It looks like a fun game. I'm gonna make a deal alert for it and see if the price of the drum kit comes down a bit. I'd like to get two sets.
