That's a great idea. You can also clean your terminals, connect them, and add some Vaseline which also does a nice job. Make sure the connections are tight before applying petroleum jelly.

It's just a pad soaked in oil. The oil coats the terminal as you slip it on. WD40 does the same thing. The pad retains some of the oil for longevity.
