Screen isn't great, but with a RAM upgrade, this could be a monster.

In for one, thank you! After doing a ton of research, this seems like an excellent laptop. The i9 is almost the best mobile cpu at the moment and the 3060 (while not great to see at this price point) is a 130w variety.

This is a great deal ✌️

not a good deal imo. I had a legion 5i pro 16gb 2tb with 3060 140watt from lenovo for 1100 after tax.

now, costco will drop this model down to 900-1000 when its clearance, I think that will be a good deal. I may snag one myself actually.

Was that ddr5 4800mhz memory? And what was the cpu? Trying to find any laptop with this cpu pushes you into the 2k price bracket.

Like I said, the gpu is the only downside but the rest is very quality.

The CPU will be handily spanked by the next generation, latest 3060s are 140W, no mux, and this display is dim with poor color gamut and slow response. The poor screen is the real negative IMO, but even if that was premium it wouldn't be worth $1350.

It would be ok at $1000. But you can get 17.3" 3060s laptops with a better display that game just as well for <$900.

The Legion 5 pro with a 3070ti for $130 more is much better, a real premium machine.

question, I canceled my 2022 legion 5i pro 3060 16gb 2tb that I had for about 1100 after tax.
2 reasons, legion 7 pros got announced and I figure, thats 1100 I could toss towards a more future proof machine, and 2, that 1440 and 3060 wouldn't be very longevity machine.

kinda regret canceling it bc I cant get price back, worried the machine I want to replace this order will be 3k lol.

would 3060 and 1440 of lasted me years?

if this comes in stock, and has coupons and I can stack it with some other sale. I may snag it.

If you really want gaming longevity, 3070 Ti and 1080p is the way to go. 3060 and 1080p, or 3070 Ti and 1440 would be ok.

I've been looking into the 4000 series laptop GPUs and I don't expect much. Nvidia is leaning heavily on DLSS3 and higher clock speeds to provide the performance boost, while badly nerfing everything else about the chips. I don't think the 4050 will match the 3060, or the 4060 match the 3070 Ti, if you aren't running DLSS. AMD is not offering much competition in laptop GPUs.

question...

I just spoke to lenovo.. they honored my original quote... I can get this laptop for 955 bucks before tax.. 1055 after.. + 40sh dollars lenovo bucks I can buy a stand with.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/la...82rf0009us

The only downfall is, its 1600p with 3060.
Can it play sea of thieves on good graphics? can I simply drop resolution down to 1080 or is it 1200p since its a larger screen?

will it still look ok and game ok? reason I ask, I found jareds video saying this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHxgiLY4lDs

and before someone calls bluff. here's my photo of cart at moment. and lenovo also promised to refund me 10% after order ships. (they messed up one of my returns/refunds and took forever)

I am a casual gamer, I play genshin impact on ps5 and rocket league, some CoD. I want this pc to play sea of thieves, and emulate some old classics like ps1/2/3 games etc..

does this 3060 have enough power to do it for me ? and if I can lower resolution will it look like poop for other pc games? sorry for so many questions.

1392 after tax.
155 Retailmenot cashback 12%
42 dollars PayPal cash back 3%
140 refund from lenovo after order ships 10% order total
=
1055 all in. + 40 lenovo bucks

Seems like a very good deal!

I unfortunately don't know about running at less than native resolution. If lowering settings isn't enough to get a good frame rate, you can probably do it. You may want to search yourself and see what others say.

I've watched the price on different iterations of this laptop for 2 years. Highly doubt it will ever go lower than $1100, assuming it even stays in stock (it's oos over half the time).
