No $1200 price tag. Unpass.
16.0-inch, WUXGA (1920 x 1200) 16:10 aspect ratio, IPS-level Panel, LED Backlit, 60Hz refresh rate, 300nits, 45% NTSC color gamut, Anti-glare display, Non-touch screen, (Screen-to-body ratio)86%

ASUS also states "8GB DDR4 on board" and according to a teardown I've seen on youtube, there's a RAM slot open
Not sure I'd agree with that...it's not all THAT new and you would only have to upgrade if you have a need for USB devices running at those speeds. To your average joe I'm not sure how much TB support really matters, even in 2 yrs. Just my opinion

According to the Amazon listing it has 8GB DDR4 3200 onboard RAM and 1 memory slot available that supports up to 8GB 3200.

Tempting. I really want my next laptop to have a 16:10 or 3:2 aspect ratio.

Heads up no thunderbolt support.
It's the newest USB tech that may force you to upgrade in 1-2 years.

It's not the newest USB tech. Ryzen 5000 series does not support USB 4.0. USB 4 is pretty much equivalent to TB3.

The HP Elitebook 16 for $550 for EPP accounts is a lot better deal.

All these 45% NTSC screens are obnoxious. Can they really be that much cheaper to make?

Youtube video breakdowns shows soldered RAM and only 1 m.2 slot
So no upgrade path from RAM. And only option for m.2 is swapping it out.

You're referring to the wrong model, one empty ram slot is available for upgrade. check the tech specs on asus website.
