This looks like an interesting watch and stats wise competes with the G-Shock. However, is it just me, when you look at this you think generic G-Shock. I have a few Timex watches and they are fine but I tend to favor Casio. I would be interested in other people's opinions on Timex and Casio.

Although I know quite few people that wear timex (i.e Ironman) due to the legible faces, nothing beats G-shocks in durability.

Its a bit of marketing gimmick. I've taken many apart to mod. There is nothing special for most of them. Just plastic module in a plastic case with resin shroud. Some higher models are built like tanks like Frogman or GW5600. Full metal case in resin shroud with crew down caseback.

G Shock DW5600 over this any day. Even at double the price. Easily be found under $50 on sale if you're patient (seen for $32 at black Friday as well).
