We've only had the cheaper plan and never had any issue with throttling in our area. My wife uses 5G most of the time and streams videos constantly.

But depending on your area and how many people are using Verizon towers you might have the exact opposite experience...

They have to offer this to get people there in my experience. This is the worst carrier around. They screwed up my account and I lost service for five days. It took them three weeks to get an Apple Watch connected. The savings are definitely not worth it.

They still charged me $30 even after applying the code. Customer service saying there is an issue with the system and he is not willing to refund $15 at least for first month.

They did the same thing to me as well even my email shows me to be charged $15 in my email but charges me $30 in my second email. Waiting for customers service chat now

My experience with visible:

Did a swap with their ZTE blade phone last year. Data was very slow (about 1 to 2 Mbps) to begin with. APN was all good. I had to contact visible support to get the network reset. Although speeds improved after a reset, it'll soon go down again within the same day. Turning off the data within the phone and turning it back on also seem to get the speed to improve for a short time. Problem was never fixed, so I moved on to a different service. Btw, I'm not in a network congested area.

I hope this was just me having such issue.

What they are attempting to do is lure the "Party" people from that discount to lock them in with future price increases. I will stick to the old plan where I pay $25 a month under the party plan. I have over 100 party members… at least for now.

I've never used this service I would not read any single person's comments about the reception being bad or good for that matter and assume it'll be true for you.

How well a service will work for an individual will very widely based on all sorts of factors, proximity to towers, type of house you live in.... If I use a prepaid T-Mobile or AT&t card I basically get no service in my house without Wi-Fi calling. If I use the Verizon based prepaid I get pretty weak service but it works. It's not a big deal for me because I'm on Wi-Fi most of the time anyways, but something like mint mobile does not work unless I'm a good 100 ft away from my house.

But straight talk with Verizon will work in my house intermittently.

But that's just my house, and there are so many variables. It would be silly to assume that just because my sample size of one leads to one conclusion, that it would apply to anyone else. Unless they literally live on the same street as me.

And even then it wouldn't be a perfect apples to apples comparison.
Proximity of towers is not the issue...the issue is that some Verizon mvno's are better than others. For example, when I was on redpocket Verizon I put my phone down right next to my mothers Net10 Verizon...My mothers phone had 4 bars and my phone had 0 bars and no service. We were both the exact same distance away from the Verizon tower...the phones were side by side on the table.

I personally have never used Visible but from the number of complaints here and on other forums it is not worth it for me to be cheap and have a phone service that only works part of the time. Or to spend hours to try to work with useless customer service.

For you to say "I would not read any single person's comments about the reception being bad or good for that matter and assume it'll be true for you" is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. When you have numerous people who have had issues it doesn't mean for sure you will have an issue but it means there is a good chance. So other people's comments are definitely useful. If it was one or two people, sure, they could be a few disgruntled or a troll. But from the sheer number of people who are writing here and have had issues that is clearly not the case.

While US Mobile may not be the cheapest, the one thing I can say is that they have one of the lowest amount of complaints for a Verizon MVNO and their customer service is decent.

A year is a long time, you can always port out and port back in. Though the 30 dollar and legacy each have their advantages

3 phones on it moved from VZW in San Diego. No issues at all. Not sure this stacks with$25/month PayPal deal - doubt it. Will stay long term so sticking with that deal locked in for 5 years.

Chat is telling me that I need to "PORT" over a number to receive the discount. Everyone needs to check their bills if they didn't port.

Good point - most of their deals require port from "specific" carriers on their approved list - (ie Google Voice will likely not work)

They should post it in the terms, but I dont see it

I think I am unsubscribing since I am not going to this deal and it is going to get lots of replies

Remember folks , no posting of ref codes =)

Anyone have a smooth experience porting over?

I'm currently using TMobile $25 prepaid but Visible's unlimited hotspot makes it worth moving to Verizon. I've read a lot of nightmare stories involving people unable to receive calls for a few days or weeks. I just want a smooth experience. I am in a major US city area.

Visible is really hit or miss. Some people have a good experience. I came from Verizon, in my experience Visible drops a lot of calls and has a much lower priority for data, compared to traditional Verizon plans. I wasn't able to stay on a call for more than 20 minutes usually, and would often run into things just not loading, even though I supposedly had "full bars" of service. I've since switched to Spectrum Mobile, which is $30/month unlimited, and Spectrum Mobile is a lot better for me, indistinguishable from traditional Verizon IMO. Just my 2 cents.
