Two notes that might be of interest: all HDMI ports are version 2.0 and "CTA-approved True 4K UHD resolution" means that the projector uses pixel shifting (they don't list native resolution anywhere easily accessible and instead hide behind that industry term.) At least for the second note it's also worth adding that for the vast majority of people, there is no discernible difference between pixel shifted 4K and native 4k (native 4k is currently still very uncommon in affordable projectors)

Let's also add that this is a very low latency [projectorcentral.com] projector with a number of key specifications comparable to Optoma's UHZ50 "gaming" projector [projectorcentral.com]. Even as a pixel-shifted 4k model, this model otherwise is packing a lot of great features into that $1500 price-point.

Good luck!

Thanks for both of your input. If this deal was in 2 months after my bonus or tax return, I'd probably go for it. Hopefully something comparable hits a great price point around then.

Repped!

It has the option for me. $124.92 a month (for 11 months) after a down payment of $248.59.

Since this is laser, does it not have the future dead pixel issues?

It's lacking lens shift and I did not see optical keystones on specs.

If you don't need these features, it looks like a decent deal.

Wow, what a deal! I bought back in September for $2K.

This projector is basically a bare bones UHZ50. So you get a laser and the gaming mode but you lose the Pure Motion, vertical lens shift and zoom, and Wi-Fi + apps.

Most people probably won't use Pure Motion as you need to use HDMI 3 on the projector whereas if you want the 4ms gaming you gotta use HDMI 1.

The vertical lens shift isn't much on the UHZ50 and if you mount this to the ceiling I don't see why you'd need it. Some people might want more zoom so the projector can do a bigger image closer to the screen but the Uhz45 can do 120" at 13 ft, so it's not terrible. Plus the simplified optics of the uhz45 let it be slightly brighter than the Uhz50.

Finally who cares about apps.

If you can manage the throw distance in your room, this is a great buy.

How does this compare with ViewSonic PX701-4K 4K UHD 3200 Lumens 240Hz 4.2ms - ViewSonic PX701-4K 4K UHD 3200 Lumens 240Hz 4.2ms Home Theater Projector in Amazon - https://a.co/d/cakWLbi

I'm not an expert but I'll say the viewsonic is a bulb projector which means black images will always only be dull grays, with laser (UHZ45), black images should be black.

This UHZ is also 600 lumens brighter than that viewsonic. I currently own the viewsonic PX747-4K which has 3600 lumens, which is semi-viewable with room lights it could definitely stand to be a bit brighter with multiple lights on. I'm hoping this UHZ45 with its 3800 lumens gets me the rest of the way there.
