Good price on a decent phone. Remember that Moto only gives like 1yr of updates, so chances are that this will be stuck on 11 forever.

Got this phone recently and it's great for an average user. Motorola ends security updates this month, it only updates to Android 11 and no 5G. None of those are deal breakers. Google updates 25 modules in Android 11 via the play store as lazy manufactures stop providing timely updates. If you think about, between WiFi and home, office coffee shop, etc., when exactly are you needing 5G speeds? If even available in the area. Besides, by the time 5G availability is where it's supposed to be, you'll be needing to upgrade to another phone in 3-4 years as the battery wears down.

I've had this phone for over a year. Believe me, the 4GB RAMM is very limiting and the choke point for me. Firefox alone is using almost all of it with like 15 tabs open. My phone is pretty much always at 95% RAMM usage. I wouldn't consider myself a real heavy user as far as phone power demands. Pretty much I only browse the web (a lot I'd admit), check email and check SD app.

Looking at getting a new phone for this reason. Otherwise I've really liked the phone. Use it without case/protector, have dropped it a fair share of times and no problems. My kid will like it when I get a new one.
I'm the same type of user - so what is the "best bang for the buck" on sub-$200 phones with the parameters above? I'm only interested in NEW, not reconditioned.

I don't know. I'm not shopping around as I can live with the phone. When I see a good deal I'll just jump on that. Was gonna do the recent pixel 7 trade in deal, but straight talk never shippes me and iphones to trade in

Not sure if this is 2021 model but tracfone sells this and a 15% discount offer pops up when on the page for a while
https://www.tracfone.com/phone/mo...us-prepaid

I got this one through tracfone for $57

but his model is not whitelisted on ATT, which I was going to use it on. I got it unlocked after 60 days and am using it on verizon
Can the phone from tracefone be unlocked in 60 days without purchase of its plan?

It was on the sd I got, not sure if it applies to the link I posted, but you can chat with them to find out how long you have to be on tracphone to unlock.

The deal I got stated on the SD post:
"Phone + $15 30-Day Prepaid Service (500 Minutes Talk / 500 Texts / 500 MB Data) = $56.74 after promo code & $0.75 AutoPay discount "

I did not sign up for for AutoPay, but the thieves charged me $15 for the 2nd month and it took some time with customer service to get that refunded.

On that deal you only had to pay for the first month and not have to pay for the 2nd, wait 60 days to unlock. I unlocked via their website which was easy compared to taking off autopay.

They never did erase my billing info from their database, so use a virtual card if you can.

The phone is bigger than I like, but is good for viewing videos which I do a lot. I use bubbleupnp and an m-card with my xfinity service to view channels when I'm not near the tv. I got it because my old moto-z 2 force which I like better cause it's smaller was dying due to the battery wearing out and it's not easy to replace. Plus it was stuck on android 8.

Not sure why would any one spend over $100 getting this that will not be supported by end of 2023, while there are some other better phones out there with longer android update support at the similar price range.

With all due respect, please prove it by giving us some choices.
I want at a minimum a new, 6.6" screen, 4GB Ram, 128GB capacity, Micros SD slot, unlocked and with a headphone jack. I don't think I'm asking for a lot. I don't even care if it's a snapdragon or mediatek CPU. But I only want to pay $130 + Tax. If you can one find at $100, I think everyone here, would like to know.

I have the older moto G about 2/3 years old. It started acting up and freezing. T-Mobile said they only support 5g now. Also they had no phones for sale and everything was on backorder. This was a cooperate location.
I insisted they change out my sim. Which they did reluctantly. Phone working good again.
Were they telling me porkies?

Anyone able to get a boot loader unlock for this model from official Motorola unlock site? Amazon model # is PAL80003US and for the life of me I cannot find any details for this model. Might Amazon be incorrect as to the model number?

I suppose I could just order one, fastboot it out of the box and check, then return it if not eligible. Just hoping someone who actually has this can confirm either way.

Yes, they were. Although, perhaps, they were not too technical also. T-mobile and all the rest of the carriers will continue to support 4G until 6G comes out. Probably towards the end of the decade or very early next decade. When that happens they'll put 5G/6G antennas in and discontinue 4G. Just like they have or are in the process of removing 3G as 4G/5G equipment is installed.
