Take the money from this and put it towards a set of 10x50 binoculars. Or look on ebay for a Meade Adventure Scope 80 / Orion ct80. These scopes are enough to make out some deep space objects and get a look at planets. The planets will be small but you can make out some detail with the right eyepiece.
