I can turn on the bedroom lights without getting out of bed. Can turn on lights on/off at set times for example can have the lights turn on gradually with sunrise. https://www.adorama.com/alc/what-...d-to-know/

Okay, but beyond just using them for lights what have you used them for?
This one is a dimmable switch so I'd only use for lights, but the ability to have smart switches on a schedule is really nice.

I use a standard KASA switch for outside lights that are normally switched to come on and off at sunset.

These are useful to dim lights when you're not immediately close to the switch through Google / Alexa

Wow this is a great price. I paid nearly double this back in Nov 2021 - bought a couple 3 packs for our new home. Didn't even get around to installing a few of them until before the holidays and it was useful controlling them + smart bulbs + smart switches via Alexa Guard while we were out of town (to turn on lights randomly). It's tempting to grab a few more of these at this price just for the sake of having them. The only problem is with the switches we have upstairs that share control of a light or set of lights...not quite sure if these would work for that or if I'd need to buy something else. It would be nice to change all of our light switches out to these just for the sake of consistency but I feel like it might be a bit overkill hahaha.

I do wish they had other versions of these on sale too. One that I'm definitely interested in is the motion sensor one.

In what applications do you find the smart switches advantageous?
Once you get used to telling a smart speaker (Alexa, Google home, etc) to turn on and off lights in rooms like bedroom, family room, kitchen, etc you realize how useful it is to not get up

AFAIK - You don't . The switch controls the power flow to the bulb
The bulbs need to be dimmable bulbs though.

Fantastic price.

Can this work on a 3 way switch if only replacing one?
No, you need their 3 way switch or dimmable 3 way switch.

Can you share links for reference or explain how?
HomeBridge will also work and might be easier to set up if all you want is things to work with HomeKit. Google it mane

Anyone know if TP-Link will end up adding Matter support to these?

Nope. They have a 3-way dimmer switch for this. I also tried this with the HS220 and a three way switch on the other end, but it did not function.

You can automate and/or configure pre-sets. For instance, my porch light comes on at sunset and turns off at 1am. My hallway lights can dim to 30% for nighttime (we leave them on like a night light). My living room recessed lighting has presets for full light, watching tv, movie experience, etc. Stuff like that. Plus you can use Google or Alexa to voice command them all.

Is there a reason why? I don't understand why the dimmer can't just be set at 100% and only be used as on/off switch as normal?

Do you need to purchase some sorta hub for these or can you buy these individual switches and just download the app?
