Wow this is a great price. I paid nearly double this back in Nov 2021 - bought a couple 3 packs for our new home. Didn't even get around to installing a few of them until before the holidays and it was useful controlling them + smart bulbs + smart switches via Alexa Guard while we were out of town (to turn on lights randomly). It's tempting to grab a few more of these at this price just for the sake of having them. The only problem is with the switches we have upstairs that share control of a light or set of lights...not quite sure if these would work for that or if I'd need to buy something else. It would be nice to change all of our light switches out to these just for the sake of consistency but I feel like it might be a bit overkill hahaha.

I do wish they had other versions of these on sale too. One that I'm definitely interested in is the motion sensor one.
This will not work for 2 way switches. kasa has 2 way and 3way which are also on sale but not as cheap as this. My house closing is in couple of weeks so I ordered almost 8 dimmable 4 smart outlets and 2 2-way switch all together came around 150$ super deal

u can do with one of this and one dumb switch for 3 way
I wanted to have a wireless switch by the bed to turn on/off lights too, without any wire.

Any other workaround?

So you want some sort of smart push button right? Then can mount it on the other side of the room without wiring...do you have another smart hub? Hue? Smartthings? That would make it much easier if you did.

You don't want to use the app?

Homebridge running on something as cheap as a raspberry Pi provides homekit integration with Kasa switches (and many other brands), running that right now and it all works as if it were native.
Do you have to configure switches etc using each manufactures app/system first, or do they just work out of the box with Homebridge/Home Assistant?

I hate having all this stuff chatting to internet.. planning on having a vlan just for smart stuff and blocking access to outside if possible, hopefully funneling everything through a Homebridge type solution.

Not familiar homebridge, but I know with my smartthings, I have the Kasa stuff paired and can interact with other devices....

I have my smart stuff on seperate VLANs using an ASUS router and tomato firmware...its a bit to setup, but runs great and keeps everything seperate.

While this deal is technically dead, Amazon Warehouse still has them Used - Like New for $8.88. I have purchased quite a few items in Like New condition and they are usually still in the box. Even Used - Very Good tend to be in excellent and serviceable shape, depending on the item. And if you don't like what you get, you can always return it to their Warehouse. This is a very good price and they can also take the place of non-dimmable (HS-200) smart switches if you set the brightness to 100%. Just bought 2, even though I don't need them.
