$10 for digital download, which a quick browse seems like the cheapest it's been.

I gave this game a good 10 hour shake, including two bosses, and concluded it was so painfully slow that I'd rather spend my time elsewhere. EVERYTHING about it is slow - animations, dialogue, menus, movement, you name it. The combat mechanics were pretty good, the character design was great, and it was beautiful, but I couldn't get past just how slow everything was. I'm not sure if it's a game designed for younger audiences or what but it definitely was not for me.
Good price for it. Plays well on the Switch. I couldn't finish this one though. Maybe I just didn't give it long enough but it was very slow paced. I absolutely loved ni no kuni 2 though and poured so many hours into it so was sad this one didn't scratch the same itch
Love this game. Have purchased it on three separate consoles now, including switch. It is slow and grindy, but it also has beautiful art direction and presentation. It was originally a handheld rpg that was remade into a PS3 game. It fits better as a handheld game, and is one of those RPGs you grind and level while watching Netflix or football, very similar to Pokemon but with an actual story and engaging world to explore.

This ^. It's a game that gets great reviews and I hear a lot of people want to like but it's sooooo boring. It's the most unexciting game I've ever played. I put in 10-15 hours and just can't do it.

I have this game on PS3 and quickly became fond of it. It's traditional JRPG of the PS1/PS2 era and will give anyone old enough to play those games a rush of nostalgia. Being traditional, the game does take time, but the animation is gorgeous and the story is fun making it an enjoyable ride. I didn't beat the game or move on to the 2nd game, so I've been considering replaying this and moving on to the next game

Yeah. This game is beyond boring. The second one is so much better. The fights basically play themselves in the first game. It's just such a drag. I actually played the second one first and then went back, because everyone said it was better. I put over 30 hours into it, just trying to force myself to beat it, but I finally bailed and have never gone back to it.

This is a fantastic game with a wonderful, heartwarming story. The biggest thing you need to know going in, however, is that there are difficulty spikes, especially toward the end, so beware, and keep yourself adequately over-levelled.

I played this the first time on PS3 and ended up rage quitting after being killed by the last boss. Years later, I tried it again on PC--remembering what I'd learned--and really enjoyed my time with it.

I also tried the sequel, and could not finish it. It's a good game, but lacks the charm of the original and eventually, I just lost interest. This game is truly special, a must-play for any fan of JRPGS.

I'll echo everyone else. I tried to get through this game, but I just couldn't do it. I don't understand the hype about it.

I can completely understand why people would not like that style of gameplay, but that sounds exactly like the classic style of RPG I'm looking for. Sounds like an absolute steal for $10, will be picking it up along with the Contra and Castlevania collections which are also on sale for only a few bucks each.

Same reason some people love the Atelier games and some don't. If you want a slow burn rpg to relax with, both Ni no Kunis fit the bill. Many people want action rpgs and this won't be for them. My kids 6 and 8 love them.

This is another game that you buy once in digital and can play side by side with a child on 2 switches. My daughter watches me to know where to go and plays on her switch while I play next to her on my switch or on the tv. I wait so we experience the whole game at the same time together. It's such a great experience to play with your kid and only needing one copy of the game. Most games I know both me and my kids will enjoy playing I buy on the switch because of it.

Takes a good 6-8 hours before the pace speeds up, so really push through the beginning if you can. I was the same way.
